Adidas Fourth of July Cleats Play Off Popsicle Design
Adidas wants the baseball world to reminisce about the distinctive call of the ice cream truck with its Fourth of July-inspired cleat design.
More than 100 Adidas players will wear the special-edition adizero Afterburner ID4 cleat this weekend and through July 4.
The cleat harkens to childhood picnics and highlights the popsicle by designing the cleat with a melting popsicle theme that slowly fades from red into white and culminates with a blue heel and tongue. A wood popsicle stick-inspired badge sits atop the tongue and gold chrome stripes round out the aesthetic on the cleat’s upper.
The ID4 limited edition continue the popsicle theme onto the sockliner and adds red and white striped lace tips. To wrap up the design, Adidas added a sparkle-filled, iridescent cleat plate.
The Fourth of July design comes quick on the heels of the limited edition Father’s Day theme meant to evoke thoughts of the “dad jean” with its denim striping details, baby blue coloring and brown jean stitching accents.
Adidas plans to put the adizero Afterburner ID4 cleats on sale for $100 on July 4.
