LONG BEACH—Jordon Adell of the White Sox continued his stellar week at the Area Code Games by winning the home run derby.

Adell beat a field of seven players representing each team at the Games. The players were voted in by their teammates.

Adell put on a show, winning the finals with a minute left in regulation and hitting several home runs longer than 400 feet. Adell said his approach to the derby was to keep things simple and get in rhythm with his pitching coach.

He added that his goal for the rest of the tournament was to “keep grinding with the boys” and maintain their undefeated record.

The Rangers’ Shane Baz also put on an impressive performance with 18 home runs in the opening round. “I was in the zone,” Baz said of his first-round performance, before noting that he should have paced himself better.
