ACC Moves Baseball Tournament To Louisville
The 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament will move to Louisville Slugger Field in Louisville, the ACC announced Tuesday.
Louisville Slugger field is the home of the Louisville Bats, the Reds’ Triple-A affiliate. The event will take place May 23-28, with 15 games in six days.
The conference moved the event from Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C., due to concerns over North Carolina’s controversial House Bill 2. The ACC tournament has been held at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park five times since 2009 and was slated to host the tournament through 2018.
Both the NCAA and ACC have relocated championship events from North Carolina due to HB2. The NJCAA also announced that it will move the Division III College World Series from Grainger Stadium in Kinston, N.C.
