The latest edition of the Arizona Fall League is just days away. On Wednesday, the league gave fans their first look at the league’s initial rosters, which feature 13 of Baseball America’s Top 100 prospects. The group is led by Mariners shortstop Colt Emerson, who ranks No. 11 on the current iteration of the list.
The AFL’s season opens on Oct. 7 with a single game—Surprise at Mesa—and will span six weeks. The Fall Stars game will be held on Nov. 9 at Sloan Park, with the annual home run derby held at the same venue the previous night. The championship play-in semifinal will take place on Nov. 15 at Scottsdale Stadium. The season will conclude the next night at Salt River Fields, the site of this year’s championship game.
Beyond the traditional six stadiums, the league will hold several special site games during the course of the season. That list features several games at Goodyear Ballpark—the spring training home of the Guardians and Reds—including a tripleheader at the stadium on Oct. 19. Additionally, there will games at American Family Fields of Phoenix—the Brewers’ spring training stadium—and Grand Canyon University’s Brazell Field.
