After reaching the championship game in the last World Baseball Classic, Puerto Rico is bringing back another talented roster to the 2023 WBC.
Puerto Rico announced its roster for the WBC on Thursday, led by longtime standouts Francisco Lindor, Javier Baez, Edwin Diaz and Jose Berrios. The roster includes Marcus Stroman, who played for Team USA in the last World Baseball Classic and beat Puerto Rico in the championship game.
The team will be managed by former Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina, who was Puerto Rico’s catcher in the last WBC.
Update: Infielder Jose Miranda has withdrawn from the WBC due to shoulder soreness. Outfielder Johneshwy Fargas has been added as an injury replacement.
