With just over three weeks until the 2021 MLB Draft, we present our latest MLB Draft projections.
With the draft now held in mid-July instead of mid-June, it’s changed the schedule of the evaluation process considerably. The first-ever MLB Draft Combine wraps up this weekend and teams have the luxury of fully scouting the College World Series. But the evaluation process for the 2021 class is largely finished.

Now, teams will begin to line up their draft boards, gauge signability and tie up loose ends, while also determining how to prioritize their scouting resources with the summer circuit in full swing for underclass prospects.
The names at the top of today’s mock should look quite familiar to Version 4.0 of our mock draft. Uncertainty still looms — there is not a consensus No. 1 option to the Pirates throughout the industry — but the board overall looks quite similar.
Notable rising names include South Carolina prep outfielder Will Taylor, Mississippi State righthander Will Bednar, Indiana prep shortstop Colson Montgomery and East Carolina righthander Gavin Williams.
