1. Nick Sinacola, RHP, Maine (BA RANK: 348)
Source: 4YR • Ht: 6-1 • Wt: 190 • B-T: L-R • Commitment/Drafted: Never Drafted

Sinacola struck out 139 batters in 79.1 innings this year, ranking fourth in Division 1 in strikeouts and second in the country with 15.8 K/9. The America East pitcher of the year, Sinacola posted a 2.04 ERA with 23 walks (2.6 BB/9), with his performance standing out more than his pure stuff. For most of the season, Sinacola’s fastball sat 88-90 mph, peaking at 92, though by his last couple of starts, he was operating more in the 89-92 mph range and hit 93 a handful of times. That’s still below-average velocity and he needs to improve his fastball command, but Sinacola actually throws his slider more than his fastball. His slider is 79-84 mph and accounts for the bulk of his strikeouts, an average pitch at times that he commands well. Sinacola mostly attacks hitters with a slider/fastball approach, though he will also mix in a splitter at times. He most likely fits in a relief role in pro ball, where his stuff could play up in short stints.
