2021 Cleveland Indians Instructional League Roster
The Indians have one of the youngest prospect cores in the sport, and their instructional league roster reflects that youth movement. The clear headliners of their group are shortstop Brayan Rocchio and outfielder George Valera, each of whom reached Double-A as 20-year-olds and found their way onto our Top 100 Prospects list. Rocchio in particular was impressive for his combination of skills on both sides of the ball, reflected in his position near the upper half of the Top 100.
Cleveland’s roster also features several upstarts from this last season: Jhonkensy Noel was a revelation for his power, and infielder Bryan Lavastida (who was a catcher during the regular year) was impressive at the plate as well. Angel Martinez, too, drew plaudits for his season at Low-A and his overall tool set.
The pitching side is led by Cleveland’s recent draftees, including East Carolina righthander Gavin Williams, Florida righty Tommy Mace and Mississippi lefthander Doug Nikhazy.
