Each year, following the release of our Top 100 prospects, Baseball America ranks the top prospects in baseball by position. You can find our position-by-position rankings here.
Here are the top center field prospects for the 2020 season.
Best Bat: Luis Robert flew through the minors and inked a six year, $50 million dollar extension with the White Sox before ever playing in a big league game. The outfielder possesses elite athleticism with excellent in-game power and an elite hit tool. He completed his first 30-30 season in the minors, and should compete for many more in the coming seasons.
Best Glove: Cristian Pache has the defensive tools to be an impact defender in center field. His foot speed and range are excellent, coupled with a 70-grade arm that helps him to be a difference maker. Pache is an aggressive fielder and should be in the gold glove conversation once he reaches the big leagues.
Sleeper: The Mets signed Alexander Ramirez for $2.05 million, their largest bonus given out during the 2019 international signing period. Ramirez is athletic and has a projectable frame with plus bat speed. He has the potential to be a speed-power threat in center field with above-average defensive skills.
