2019 Kansas City Royals Instructional League Roster
Every year, Baseball America makes an effort to post Instructional League rosters for every organization. We will continue our effort to post as many rosters as possible, but please note not all teams participate in the Instructional League anymore.
The Royals are sending a slew of players to instructs this year, headlined by Bobby Witt Jr., the team’s top prospect and the No. 2 overall pick this June.
It’s added reps for the 19-year-old shortstop, who hit .262/.317/.354 with one homer in 164 at-bats in the rookie level Arizona League.
Witt is one of three Royals Top 30 prospects on the roster. He’s joined by Brady McConnell (No. 9) and RHP Carlos Hernandez (No. 26).
Of note, the Royals list McConnell, who was drafted as a shortstop, as an outfielder.
The Royals are also sending 16-year-old outfielder Erick Pena, one of the top prospects from the 2019 international class. You can read more about Pena here.
