RHP Prospect Rankings 2018
As home runs and offense have exploded in the majors, an elite group of righthanded pitching prospects is arriving to try and even the playing field. The 2018 group is arguably the best and deepest crop of prospect righthanders since the 2013 class that featured Jose Fernandez, Gerrit Cole, Trevor Bauer, Dylan Bundy, Taijuan Walker, Jameson Taillon, Shelby Miller and Zack Wheeler at the top. Shohei Ohtani is an ML-ready import with Cy Young potential, and the six starters behind him all boast front of the rotation potential as well. Even into the teens there are potential franchise-caliber starters, with Michel Baez, Hunter Greene, Triston McKenzie and Franklin Perez just needing to perform at higher levels. All in all 34 righthanders made the BA Top 100, and many well beyond that range project to have solid careers in big league rotations. With star power, depth and many potential future All-Stars, righthanded pitching is the best position group in the 2018 prospect class.
