2017 Top 100 Prospects Position Rankings: Third Basemen
SEE ALSO: Top 100 Prospects
There is upside among the prospect group at the hot corner, but Nick Senzel and Rafael Devers are the only elite talents who have really shined in full-season ball, though Matt Chapman’s power should see him in the majors soon. Beyond them, it’s a lot of raw (Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ke’Bryan Hayes) or unknown (Lourdes Gurriel) talent or college players who looked great in their 2016 debuts but have to prove it over a full season (Bobby Dalbec, Lucas Erceg). There is considerable depth, with not much separating the No. 11 third baseman and the No. 21 prospect at the position.
