2017 State Draft Report: Caribbean

CROP RATING
updated_state_rating_five_star Solid, not spectacular
Rating compares this year’s group to what a state typically produces, not to other states

Puerto Rico typically has a legitimate first rounder and a few players that are in the mix early on day two of the draft. That’s the case again in 2017, with Heliot Ramos expected to come off the board early, perhaps within the top 10 to 15 picks.

After Ramos, there’s a number of intriguing young prep players with tools. The island is loaded with projectable arms and explosive quick-twitch athletes, such as Ricardo De La Torre and Nelson Velazquez.
