Manager: Omar Lopez (Astros) Pitching Coaches: Steve Connelly (A’s), Michael Tejera (Nationals) Hitting Coaches: Jacob Cruz (Cubs), Mike Hessman (Tigers) |
THE STARS: OFs Victor Robles (Nationals) and Kyle Tucker (Astros) are two of the best hitting prospects in baseball and they help make this one of the most loaded rosters in the Arizona Fall League. Robles provides speed, center field defense and a well-rounded bat with developing power. Tucker provides a similar well-rounded toolset, albeit with less speed but more power. But the lineup doesn’t stop with them. 1B Yordan Alvarez, C Jake Rogers and 3B Sheldon Neuse all are also worth watching on what should be one of the deepest lineups in the league.
INTERESTING: RHP Adam Ravenelle (Tigers) is making a third trip to the Arizona Fall League as he tries to continue to improve his command of his high 90s fastball. Putting Athletics C Sean Murphy on the same team with Jake Rogers ensures that the Solar Sox will have one of the best pair of backstops in the AFL.
REHABBING: Cubs RHP Alec Mills, acquired from the Royals last offseason in a deal that sent OF Donnie Dewees to the Royals, missed most of the season with an ankle injury. Athletics RHP Logan Shore missed more than a month of the season with a back injury, so a trip to the Fall League will give him needed additional innings.
