2016 State Draft Report: Maine
CROP RATING | |
Solid, not spectacular | |
Rating compares this year’s group to what a state typically produces, not to other states |
No player has been drafted out of Maine since 2013. The state isn’t exactly a hotbed for baseball. Since 2000, only four high school players have been selected out of Maine, the most famous of which was Mark Rogers. Rogers was the fifth overall pick in 2004.
There is no Mark Rogers in Maine this year. There is a pair of solid college performers, who could be late round picks. It’s possible that both of these players will end up undrafted, but their performances and tools warrant consideration in a 40-round draft.
