Baseball America’s Top 30 Detroit Tigers Prospects entering 2024 are here exclusively for subscribers. The list includes updated scouting reports, BA grades and tool grade projections every player.

Inevitably, there are players every year who barely miss the cut when we narrow down the list. These players are all worth monitoring for various reasons and it’s likely some will either reach the big leagues in 2024 or enjoy breakout seasons lower in the minors.

Here are next 10 players to know in the Tigers system beyond their Top 30.

31. Andre Lipcius, 3B/1B

Lipcius is a heady player with enough bat to potentially carve out a bench role in Detroit, but he risks being left behind as infielders like Colt Keith and Jace Jung follow in his footsteps. His glove is fringy at third base, and his bat is stretched as a regular at first base.

32. Cristian Perez, OF

One of a trio of $1 million plus signees in the Tigers’ 2023 international class, Perez was slowed early in his Dominican Summer League debut by a broken hamate, but he showed strength, athleticism and a reasonably polished hitting approach.

33. Anibal Salas, OF

Salas immediately became one of the toolsier outfielders in the Tigers’ system as soon as he signed for $1 million in January. He’s a switch-hitting center fielder with plus speed, above-average bat speed, plus raw power and a plus-plus arm.

34. Brady Allen, OF

A fifth-round pick of the Marlins out of South Carolina, Allen was acquired by the Tigers for Jonathan Davis in May 2023. He proved to be one of West Michigan’s better hitters while playing all three outfield spots. His well-rounded offensive approach is worth keeping an eye on.

35. Brailyn Perez, SS

Perez may not be able to hit enough to be a big league regular, but his plus-plus defense should give him plenty of chances to try to figure it out at the plate.

36. Roberto Campos, OF

A $2.85 million signing out of Cuba in 2019, Campos can put on a show in batting practice, but that swing hasn’t made it into games. He needs to demonstrate he can stick in center field while getting to his power more consistently.

37. Luke Gold, 2B/3B

Gold is yet another in the Tigers’ never-ending array of solid-hitting second/third baseman with defensive questions. He is a polished hitter with gap power, but he will have to keep hitting to stand out since second base is the Tigers’ deepest position in the minors.

38. Ryan Kreidler, SS

Kreidler’s bat has proven to be stretched at Triple-A and the major leagues, but his solid defense at three infield spots and center field gives him a shot at a utility role.

39. Franyerber Montilla, SS

Montilla has spent two years in the Dominican Summer League, but he’s worth keeping an eye on. He’s a switch-hitter who may be able to stick at shortstop thanks in part to his above-average arm. He’s got a chance to hit as well.

40. Juan Hernandez, SS

Another Dominican Summer League standout, Hernandez is a lefthanded-hitting shortstop/third baseman with a smooth, fluid swing. He’ll need to get stronger to add power to his hitting ability.
