He is committed to Arizona State as a shortstop, which he plays at Pinnacle, and his athleticism may be his best attribute. He flashes above-average arm strength and plus speed (4.2 seconds to first from the right side), and continued to get better during the spring as he added strength to his rangy 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame. Holmes showed offensive aptitude throughout the spring, becoming a key run producer as Pinnacle reached the state championship.
