Scolamiero is coached by his father Steve, who has coached at the high school level for more than 20 years. Clark has the makeup and instincts of someone raised around the game. He is an above-average runner with an above-average arm and has a chance to stay in center field, though some teams think he will move off the position because he is not a true burner. The lefthanded-hitting Scolamiero has a chance to hit, with a quick, contact-oriented stroke geared toward hitting line drives and making use of his speed. He shows home run power to his pull side in batting practice but is likely to have below-average power. The 6-foot, 170-pounder has a lean, athletic build. He's viewed as a tough sign away from his commitment to South Carolina, and in fact his father will step down as Greenville High's coach after this season in order to watch his son play in Columbia.
