Drafted in the 15th round (456th overall) by the San Francisco Giants in 2017 (signed for $125,000).
View Draft Report
Unlike many of the college shortstops in this draft class, Garcia should keep seeing "six" written by his name on the lineup card in pro ball thanks to his short-area quickness, average arm strength and smooth infield actions. He's also very reliable--he made only four errors all season. At the plate, Garcia's not a washout either. He also has shown some pop, as evidenced by his 13 home runs this year. He has the potential for fringe-average power, although he does sell out some to get to that power.
