Long Beach City CC outfielder/righthander Tai Tiedemann was a quarterback at Long Beach Poly High, helping the team to the 2012 CIF championship. He had played baseball as a prep freshman, didn't for two years to focus on football, then played again as a senior and wound up playing both as a pitcher and center fielder in JC ball. He's a 6-foot-6, 195-pounder who can hit a bit and is a plus athlete and runner, but he's a better prospect as a pitcher. He's lanky but has a simple delivery and throws 90-94 mph fastballs on a steep downhill plane. He logged 80 innings as a sophomore and throws quality, low strikes with his fastball. His curveball has shown some flashes and generally is an average offering.
