A fifth-year senior, Carroll lost a year to a broken collarbone but had a productive career for the Utes, frequently teaming with his twin brother Dalton, a righthander drafted last year as a 21st-round pick (Braves). Dallas Carroll has fringy tools but improved strength and decent athleticism at 6-foot, 205 pounds. He may fit best in pro ball as an offensive second baseman, as he has balance at the plate and a good idea of the strike zone, making hitting his best tool. He ranked fourth in the Pac-12 Conference in batting and in the top 50 nationally in batting (.369) and on-base percentage (.465).
