Wagaman was a middle-of-the-order anchor on an Aliso Niguel High team that reached the 2014 CIF-Southern Section Div. II championship game and featured future college standouts Kyle Molnar and Blake Sabol. Originally committed to Chico State, Wagaman instead landed at Orange Coast JC and became a premier power hitter, finishing fifth in the state with 14 home runs and slugging .636 as a sophomore. The muscular 6-foot-4, 210-pound rigthanded hitter takes an aggressive, direct path to the ball and uses his considerable natural strength to elevate the ball with authority. He matches his plus raw power with a solid feel to hit, good pitch recognition and a knack for the barrel. Wagaman is not an exceptional athlete and will have to stick at first base, but he has the big power to make that work.
