A senior, Lubach spent one season at Hutchinson (Kan.) CC before transferring to Nebraska and being a three-year starter. He was one of the better defensive catchers in the Big Ten Conference with a solid-average arm and improved receiving skills. He has good defensive fundamentals, with quick footwork and a smooth transfer helping produce above-average pop times (1.9 seconds) to second base. The righthanded batter also improved offensively, tying for the team lead in 2015 with four home runs, but projects as a bottom-of-the-order hitter.
