Tubbs had a disappointing junior season, but bounced back well this spring and led the American Athletic Conference with 17 home runs and 55 RBIs. He provided thump in the heart of the Tigers order, while employing a disciplined approach that allowed him to walk nearly as many times as he struck out. Tubbs, a two-sport star in high school, is fairly athletic for a first baseman and may be able to provide some positional versatility as a professional.
