Drafted in the 13th round (401st overall) by the Oakland Athletics in 2013.

Higley has been a bit of an enigma for scouts. While he has intriguing tools, he has been inconsistent. He hit .252/.332/.471 with 10 doubles and 10 home runs this season, striking out 55 times and walking 22 in 210 at-bats. While scouts question how much he'll hit, he draws interest because of his power/speed potential with a lefthanded bat and an athletic 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame. Higley plays a good center field and has average arm strength. He'll likely go a few rounds later than his cousin J.P. went (ninth) to the Nationals in 2008.
