Drafted in the 10th round (300th overall) by the Kansas City Royals in 2017 (signed for $2,500).

A 25th-round pick of the Yankees out of high school, at that time Floyd was a lineman who was just learning to pitch after plenty of time on the football field. At 250 pounds, Floyd is still lineman-sized, but he's got quick feet and agility for his statute as well as durability. The senior sign gets plenty of sink on his 89-91 mph fastball and a deceptive delivery.

Bishop Ward High (Kansas City) righthander John Roblez opened 2013 as Kansas' top prep prospect, but fellow Kansas State recruit Floyd has passed him after reaching the 90s with his fastball this spring. He's a 6-foot-4, 245-pounder who was an all-league selection in football as a lineman. He's just now focusing on baseball and still is learning to pitch, but Floyd shows surprising feel given his inexperience. He usually works at 86-89 mph with his fastball, though his frame portends more velocity to come. His changeup has a chance to be a solid pitch and he has made decent strides with his curveball as well.
