The athletic 6-foot-4, 185-pound Paschke played basketball in the winter, and he came out of the gate slowly this spring. His frame has some projection, but he pitched mostly at 85-90 mph this spring, topping out at 92 once in a while. His curveball has depth but lacks sharpness, rating as a below-average pitch. His slider is more promising but does not break much, acting more like a slower cutter. It's no better than below-average now but could be better intime. He lacks arm speed on his changeup, which also rates as below-average. His command needs work and all his stuff needs refinement, but he does have upside. He could be a two-way player at Southern California, as he flashes raw power at the plate and arm strength at the hot corner, though his swing and approach need work.
