The massive, 6-foot-4, 240-pound Denson stands out for his plus-plus raw power. When he connects, he can hit the ball a long way, as he showed at January's Power Showcase at Marlins Park, hitting a 515-foot home run. He is a patient hitter who isn't afraid to work counts, and he can be too passive at times. His hitting needs a lot of refinement and his swing has holes, but he has excellent makeup and could flourish with pro instruction. Denson is fairly light on his feet for his size, and while he's still a work in progress at first base, he should be an adequate defender there, with an average arm. He isn't a slug on the basepaths, though he figures to slow down as he matures. A Hawaii recruit, Denson's power should get him drafted in the top 10 rounds.
