Damon got a lot of early play as a potential first overall selection, but most of that was because he's from the same central Florida area the Astros, who own the first pick, train in. Once the Astros left for Houston, interest faded. For Damon, a .305 batting average this spring told it all. He has excellent speed and all the requisite big league tools except a good arm, but needs a lot of instruction hitting.
