The lefthanded slugger has been one of the Lobos' top bats during his team's surprising run to the Mountain West Conference championship. DeVito led New Mexico in hitting (.379) and finished second in home runs (16) while playing home games in the school's extreme hitting environment. DeVito has plus raw power and gets leverage in his swing but has below-average bat speed. He's not an exceptional athlete and has bottom of the scale speed, but some team may bet on the power to take him in the first 10-12 rounds. The other problem is that DeVito, who caught and played first base for the Lobos, is at his best only in the batter's box.
