Morris was the lefthanded part of a catching-DH platoon with Hunter Taylor for the EvoShields Canes last fall. While he doesn't have as much power as Taylor, he has average potential from the left side of the plate with some uphill plane to a line-drive stroke that has strength. He did show a tendency to swing and miss on the showcase circuit. The 6-foot-2, 199-pound Morris has a better chance of sticking behind the plate than Taylor, with a solid-average arm that projects to above-average. Like most prep catchers, he'll have to work to smooth out things defensively. He's a well below-average runner. The Maryland commit was drawing late interest in the top five rounds from some teams.
