Also drafted by the Pirates in the 39th round in 2017, Gretler is a senior performer with Oregon State and can play all over the field. He’s played third base and catcher and could probably slide over to shortstop in a pinch, but he fits best at the hot corner. This spring he’s shown a more consistent approach at the plate and also shown more power, with a career-best seven home runs through 55 games with the Beavers.
