In three years, Summerville could be a first-round pick, if his velocity picks up. His fastball often sat at 84-86 mph this spring, and he dominated other times at 80-83. He sat 86-88 on the summer showcase circuit at times, but the 6-foot-3, 194-pounder doesn't have the quickest arm. He pitches off his fastball thanks to its location but also has confidence in his ability to drop in his upper-60s curveball or mid-70s slider for strikes. He also throws a changeup with potential. Summerville has the polish to step right in as a freshman in the Pac-12 next spring if, as expected, he doesn't have the velocity for teams to buy him out of his Stanford commitment.
