Nicknamed "Scooter," Bynum is one of the best all-around athletes from Alaska to play baseball in years. A point guard on his high school's basketball team, Bynum won player of the year honors for the state while leading his team to a third straight state title. He also won all-state honors as a wide receiver and defensive back in football. His baseball game is understandably raw, but his athleticism and aptitude offer considerable upside. He has plus long speed, covers the gaps in center field and has the potential to remain there with continued development. His speed doesn't consistently play out of the box but should improve. The lefthanded hitter has a quick, line-drive swing and uses the whole field with natural hand-eye coordination. Bynum played against pro competition this spring with the British Columbia-based Langley Blaze club team and made quality contact. His gap power projects as below-average. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder has a lean, sleek build with room to get stronger. He is committed to Arizona Western CC.
