  Scouts have always liked Monda's athleticism and potential, but his performance hasn't quite lived up to expectations. He's a solid athlete at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds with a smooth lefthanded swing, which can get long. He's aggressive at the plate, racking up 41 strikeouts this season with just five walks. He is a good defender in the outfield or at first base. Aside from having no real plus tool, Monda is considered a difficult sign because he is an excellent student who is considering medical school and has strong family ties to Washington State, including a brother on the team. Teams might take a look at him next year after his senior season, when he also might see more time on the mound.
