For as polished as Diaz is with the glove, he’s still waiting on the bat to come around. In two seasons with Vanderbilt the 5-foot-11, 188-pound infielder is a career .241/.366/.361 hitter, though he did show some on-base ability in a 28-game stint with Brewster in the Cape Cod League where he hit .284/.417/.422.
