School: Hagerty HS, Oviedo, Fla. Commit/Drafted: Clemson
Age At Draft: 19
BA Grade: 45/Extreme
Tools: Fastball: 45. Slider: 50. Curveball: 50. Changeup: 55. Control: 55.
Bell is a talented two-way player with a 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame. He is a corner outfield profile and lefthanded hitter as a position player but likely has more pro upside on the mound. Bell isn’t the biggest or hardest-throwing pitcher, but he consistently excels on the mound in games with advanced control, feel for pitching and ability to get loads of swing and miss on his fastball. Bell pitches at 88-92 mph and touches 93 but his fastball plays above the radar gun to pile up empty swings. It’s a lively fastball with good armside run from his low release height and he challenges hitters with strikes to both sides of the plate. He changes speeds with an 83-85 mph changeup that is one of the better changeups in the prep class, and he will also mix in two different breaking balls: an 83-84 mph slider with sweeping action and slurve-like shape at times as well as a consistently average 75-76 mph curveball with more consistent shape and bite. Bell is committed to Clemson and could contribute on both sides of the ball if he makes it to campus.
