Evans is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound righthander who has been an up-arrow prospect over the last two and a half years or so, with a great base of athleticism and velocity that has continued to trend upwards. He has a powerful arm and throws a low-90s fastball that has gotten up to 95 with a bit of arm-side running life. He has thrown a pair of breaking balls: a slider in the 80-82 mph range and a curveball in the upper 70s. Both pitches are inconsistent currently and need more separation and consistent shape to get to their solid-average potential. His most exciting secondary is a 78-82 mph split-change that he spins in the 800-1,100 rpm range and has impressive tumbling action. With more command of his entire pitch mix Evans has exciting upside. He is committed to LSU and is also a solid amateur hitter and infielder.
