DeMuth was the leading regular-season hitter (.406) on an Indiana team that won its first outright Big 10 Conference championship since 1932. He makes consistent contact and is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound athlete with plus speed and arm strength, yet scouts still aren't sure what to make of him. He lacks profile power for a third baseman, with just six homers in three college seasons. His size and strength would indicate more pop, but he doesn't have a lot of leverage or bat speed in his lefthanded swing. He has an inside-out stroke that flares a lot of balls to the opposite field. His hands are OK at third base, though he can lose his focus on defense at times.
