Clark was a standout running back out of high school in Mississippi who went on to played defensive back and return kicks in junior college at East Mississippi CC. After his freshman season, Clark dropped football and put his focus on baseball, transferring to West Florida. The Rangers drafted Clark as a 12thround pick in 2015, and he immediately showed that he's more than a raw athlete, performing well in the short-season Northwest League especially early on before slowing down toward the end of the year. Clark isn't very big, but he's extremely athletic and well-proportioned. He has a short, quick swing and uses his hands well at the plate, though he needs to reign in a more selective approach and needs to stay quieter with his lower half, as he's prone to losing his balance leading to excessive swing-and-miss. He has sneaky power and showed he could even drive home runs to the opposite field after signing. Clark is a plus-plus runner who should be able to play center field, though his lack of experience shows.
