Orem featured the pitchers with the three best K-BB ratios in the league in Smith, soft-tossing lefthander Jayson Miller (68-7 in 81 innings) and Perez (77-8 in 58 innings). Perez works with quick tempo and commands three pitches. His best offering is a hard breaking ball that breaks down at times and more laterally at others. He overthrows the pitch at times, which causes it to flatten out. He also has an 89-94 mph fastball that sits around 91 with heavy life. Perez will need to improve his changeup in order to remain a starter as he advances to higher levels. He also is working on smoothing out his mechanics.
