Strentz has the body and power to be one of the top college catchers drafted, but his inconsistency drives him down draft boards. The strong 6-foot-1, 205-pounder has proven durable in his first year back from Tommy John surgery, catching 50 of Louisiana-Lafayette's first 54 games. His arm strength has been understandably up and down, and he has thrown out 24 percent of basestealers. His receiving and hitting both run in streaks. His best tool is his plus raw power, which could prompt a club to pop him as high as the seventh round if it regards him as signable. He has leverage as a redshirt sophomore.
