  Santos signed with the Royals out of the Dominican Republic and pitched in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League in 2010. After Kansas City released him, he wound up at Western Oklahoma State, which has extensive recruiting ties in Latin America. He has been the Pioneers' ace for two years, winning the Division II Junior College World Series championship game in 2011 and pitching the team back to the tournament this spring. Six-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Santos dominates juco competition with a 91-93 mph fastball and a mid-80s slider. Both project as plus pitches and could play up further if he moves to a relief role in pro ball. He's expected to be quite signable.
