Perry wasn't a regular on the showcase circuit, but he did impress at the South Atlantic Border Battle last fall. There, the lefthanded-hitting High Point recruit showed excellent pull-side power, hitting one home run out of the stadium at the Holly Springs North Main Athletic Complex. Perry has an aggressive uphill swing and his power-focused approach could lead to swing-and-miss at the professional level. While Perry does flash soft hands, most scouts believe he's too slow on his feet behind the plate and envision him moving to first base, where there will be plenty of pressure on his bat. He's expected to sign as a fifth to tenth round pick.
