Cabral helped lead Chipola (Fla.) to the NJCAA World Series championship, maturing from a spot starter and reliever with an ERA north of 6 as a freshman into a formidable rotation piece as a sophomore. While he struggled in the Series, Cabral won 11 games on the season and averaged 12.11 strikeouts per nine innings. He's a competitor with a 90-93 mph fastball in shorter stints that retains its above-average natural life. As a starter, Cabral sits in the 87-90 mph range and can hit on a slider that is average to above when his delivery is in synch. Cabral has committed to Memphis, which plans to use him as a closer, and relief is likely the 5-foot-11 righty's pro future as well.
