Halvorsen started his college career at Missouri before transferring to Tennessee after the 2021 season. He missed all of 2022, however, due to a fracture in his right elbow. He was able to return in 2023, however, and went 3-3, 3.81 with 52 strikeouts in 52.1 innings. He consistently runs his fastball into the upper 90s and works in a slider and a split-change. He’s a good athlete and has a strong build at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds. He can work extended outings, but profiles best as a reliever.

Draft Prospects
-
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound righthander didn’t put up great numbers this year at Missouri, but the stuff is what excites. Halvorsen’s fastball has been sitting 94-98 mph, he’s touched triple digits, and he has a plus slider and a plus changeup to go with it. The 21-year-old is a former two-way player who is incredibly athletic and super twitchy, only recently committing to staying solely on the mound. He needs more confidence and conviction in his stuff, and he struggles to repeat his release point, but the natural talent is there. -
There's a lot to like about Halvorsen's arm, but while the Missouri signee can flash some 95-97s early in outings, he doesn't maintain that velocity and soon settles into an 88-92 mph range that's still solid for a teenage righthander. His curveball is inconsistent. Evaluators say they believe Halvorsen prefers to play shortstop where his arm is easily plus. He has some quick twitch attributes and is an above-average runner. He has the athleticism to play both ways at Missouri, but scouts don't really see him as a pro prospect as a hitter just yet.
