After pitching exclusively out of the bullpen his first two seasons, Van Orden moved into the rotation last year and produced tepid results. But he was one of the better starters in the Atlantic Coast Conference this year while fronting a talented Duke pitching staff and should be a valued senior sign. The 22-year-old has a pro body at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds with an athletic build and strong lower half. He pitches at 88-91 mph and has touched 94 in short stints, though his fastball typically lacks life.
