A disappointing season for the Wildcats hinged on poor pitching, with an injury to projected ace Mathew Troupe contributing. Parmenter, a position player his first two seasons, got a shot to pitch some innings in Troupe's absence, tossing 28 innings after getting just 32 at-bats (and not pitching) in his first two seasons. He's fairly athletic at 6-foot-2, 197 pounds and has flashed arm strength, touching 96 mph. Parmenter's secondary stuff is rudimentary. Scouts also are concerned that his arm action, which was clean when he was an infielder and outfielder, has gone backward on the mound.
