A quarterback for the high school immortalized in "Remember The Titans," Grosser has emerged as a draft prospect relatively late in the process. He has limited pitching experience, but with a 6-foot-4, 190-pound frame and low-90s fastball, he has upside. He can run his fastball up to 94 mph with good sink and flashes secondary stuff that could be at least average. His delivery needs work, but most scouts think he just needs professional instruction. His stuff can vary significantly in a game, with his fastball sitting 89-90 mph early and then ramping up to 93 or better. He shows aptitude and excellent makeup, so most evaluators think he'll be able to develop once he gets into a professional pitching program. He is committed to George Mason and considered signable, so a team could take a chance on him in the fifth round.

A high school quarterback at T.C. Williams who emerged late in the draft process due to his limited experience on the mound, Grosser was a George Mason commit who signed for $400,000 after slipping through the first 10 rounds of the draft in 2013. The raw righthander made the most of his initial professional instruction and was named the No. 8 prospect in the Rookie-level Appalachian League in 2014. Grosser is an excellent athlete with a strong body who competes well with great composure on the mound. His fastball sits in the low 90s and touches 93 mph with above-average sinking action that generated the highest groundout/airout ratio (2.71) among starters in the Appy League. His slider is a heavy offering in the low- to mid-80s and gives him two potential plus pitches as he gains experience. His changeup improved as the season progressed but still has a ways to go. Grosser has ironed out some mechanical issues, which led to better control after his first few outings in 2014. The development of his changeup will play a major role in whether he sticks in the rotation. Grosser should make the jump to low Class A Rome in 2015.

The athletic Grosser was a prep quarterback at the high school profiled in the movie "Remember The Titans." While he went in the 11th round of the 2013 draft, he signed for fourth-round money ($400,000). Grosser pitches off of his fastball that sat 90-92 mph and touched 94 before tiring some down the stretch. He generates at least plus sinking life to his heater that produced the highest groundout/airout ratio (2.71) of any qualified Appy League starter, and he did not allow a home run all season. His breaking ball improved over the last year and has at least average potential. His changeup has developed and showed fringe-average potential, though it is not frequently used. Grosser's low three-quarters slot, mostly two-pitch mix and pitchability could push him to the bullpen in the long term. But his delivery improved over the last year, as Grosser is throwing with less effort and reduced rigidity to the front side of his delivery, enabling him to get greater extension out front.
