Drafted in the 11th round (335th overall) by the Seattle Mariners in 2015 (signed for $100,000).
View Draft Report
Silva has been a reliever throughout his career at Florida State and leads the team in appearances this spring. Listed at 6-foot-1, 215 pounds, he doesn't have an ideal pitcher's frame, but he's proven he knows how to get outs and is capable of pitching multiple innings. Silva's fastball sits 92-93 mph and he pairs it with a good slider, helping him average 12 strikeouts per nine innings though the end of May. He also has a viable changeup, but doesn't throw it much. Silva will need to work to tighten up his control in the minor leagues.
